How to: Assign or change a password for Windows.
Solution:
Double-click 'Passwords' in 'Control Panel'.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Settings' and select 'Control Panel'. (The 'Control Panel' window appears.)

3) Double-click the 'Passwords' icon. (The 'Password Properties' dialog box appears.)

4) Click the 'Change Passwords' tab.
5) Click 'Change Windows Password...'. (The 'Change Windows Password' dialog box appears.)

6) Click 'OK'.
7) Do one of the following:
a) To change an existing password:
1] Type the current password in the 'Old password' box in the 'Change Windows Password' dialog box.
2] Type the new password in the 'New password' box.
3] Re-type the new password in the 'Confirm new password' box.

b) To create a new password when no password is currently in effect:
1] Type the password in the 'New password' box.
2] Re-type the new password in the 'Confirm new password' box.
8) Click 'OK'.
9) Click 'Close'.
